Why set up another blog?
From 2010-2012, I was blogging at Rowenabolo.com about entrepreneurship and mostly personal development.
This was the start of my online marketing journey and I was honored to be mentioned by Kristi Hines as one of the fearless bloggers on her Kikolani post. I unfortunately shelved this project as I became busy being a team member of a Singapore start up.
Now, that I have a clearer purpose for this blog, the write up below reflects my passion for optimum health, start ups and digital marketing.
My inspiration for why I came up with this platform is Ecostore (and its founder Ecoman), a New Zealand company which creates plant and mineral based cleaners, body care and baby care products that are healthier and safer for you and your family. When we moved to NZ, I immediately got introduced to this brand as it’s easily available in supermarkets and pharmacies. I fell in love with their products (from laundry wash, skincare, personal care to baby products). While working for an SEO agency, I was so excited to know that Ecostore’s main store is just across my workplace. Whenever I’d go there to purchase anything, I’ll be like a child entering a toy store 🙂
You can read their story by visiting their book site. It is a fantastic book which I recommend to all entrepreneurs!
At ecostore, we believe in ridding the world of nasty chemicals to make home the safest and healthiest place. We’ve designed our products to be safer for you and for the environment, without compromising on performance. If there’s any doubt about the safety of an ingredient, we’ll always seek a safer alternative as part of our journey of constant innovation.
Ecostore and Ecoman inspired me to research more about our families health. Something in me was stirred up – I now have this craving (a powerful desire) to support and promote entrepreneurs in the health and wellness industry.
Finding out more about businesses that contribute to holistic health and wellness personally brings me joy. I get absolutely inspired by it, so although it is time consuming to research and learn more, I love getting ideas and being able to share about them on social media.
Why this platform again?
My hope for this blog is to contribute my small part to changing what’s normal when it comes to food and nutrition at homes. I envision a future where whole foods are mainstream and not only available through ‘speciality’ stores/ restaurants. Fortunately many health and wellness advocates are now raising awareness. Especially in New Zealand and Australia (where I’m based), there are so many healthy options, and businesses focused on holistic health and well-being are booming!
I consider myself lucky as Australia makes it easy for me to choose healthy food and sustainable goods. My dream is to make this the “new normal” for other countries like Philippines where I’m from. I know this may take a while but I will do my part by blogging about the importance of gut health and family nutrition.
One other thing that I can do right now is to help businesses in the holistic health industry to thrive and succeed! I realise that the more we support “health entrepreneurs”, the more we’re spreading awareness and education about the future health of our families.
As a start-up marketer, I continue to learn about growth marketing and I’m fascinated by creative campaigns that create traction for businesses. Growth marketing has levelled the playing field and success stories have made me believe that start-up businesses can definitely compete in today’s market.
Finally, as I start building this platform, my goal now is to inspire entrepreneurs in the health and wellness space by curating successful marketing ideas from fellow entrepreneurs. I may do this purely by blogging first, but I hope to be able to do this via interviews/podcasts in the future too.
(Some snaps showing my commitment to starting living a life with optimum health…)
Brendon Burchard has helped me gain clarity by asking myself this question – what is it that if you do consistently for three years will result into something good and will impact your life tremendously?
The answer is absolutely clear – I am committed to personally transforming my and my family’s (future kids) health. In the process of doing this, I hope to be given the chance to collaborate with health entrepreneurs to grow their businesses. I am excited to do this and I’ll be updating this platform one blog at a time! 🙂
